From a quiet Etsy shop
to a shared dream.
Ecossaise began in 2022 as a small Etsy shop called Ecossaise Designs. Erica started with stickers and vinyl decals. Not much came of it at first, but the idea never really disappeared.
The name came from Erica's mother, who is from Scotland and learned French in school. One sentence stayed with her and was passed along to Erica: “Je suis Écossaise”—“I am Scottish.” With both Scottish and French roots, the word felt like home.
In November 2025, after meeting Jon and moving to Arkansas, Erica admitted how much she missed creating. They looked at the equipment and materials they already had, and Jon chose not only to support the dream, but to join it.
What began as rebuilding an Etsy shop grew into vendor events, local booths, handcrafted skin care, home essentials, pet products, artwork, and an ever-changing collection of useful and unexpected creations.

Mass-produced products often became the default simply because they were the easiest to find. Ecossaise hopes to help people return to thoughtfully made alternatives—to understand what they purchase, feel good about their choices, and know that real care went into every item.

The Highland heart
of Ecossaise.
Betsy is Ecossaise's beloved Highland cow, unofficial supervisor, and a familiar face from our very first product. Erica has always loved cows—both the Highland variety and their distant aquatic cousins, the manatees, which happen to be her favorite animal.
Betsy represents the Scottish heart of Ecossaise and the warmth, personality, and touch of whimsy we want every creation to carry. She keeps watch over our growing collection, appears wherever she feels most at home, and occasionally receives credit for ideas she absolutely did not help make.
